Цивільна сфера та демократія в Латинській Америці

Анотація. Мета статті — продемонструвати, що цивільні сфери Латинської Америки залишаються в силі, навіть перебуваючи під загрозою, а також розширити спосіб теоретизування демократії, осмислюючи її не тільки як державну форму, але як спосіб життя. При цьому завдання авторів виходить за рамки просто застосування теорії цивільної сфери і передбачає наголос на актуальності як на практиці, так і в теорії демократичної культури та інститутів Латинської Америки. Це вимагає деколонізації зверхнього ставлення теоретиків Півночі до демократичних процесів за межами Сполучених Штатів і Європи. Звернення теорії цивільної сфери до досвіду Латинської Америки розкриває утопічний і амбітний характер громадянського суспільства на нових і більш сильних підставах. Зокрема, це дає змогу показати, що в сучасній Латинській Америці цивільний дискурс в поєднанні з комунікативними і реґулювальними інститутами в латиноамериканських цивільних сферах здатні ініціювати процеси демократизації в дусі цивільності. Таке бачення є конструктивним застосовно не тільки до реалій Латинської Америки, а й до ширшого глобального контексту.
