Цивільна сфера та перехід до миру: культурна травма та цивільне відновлення

Якими є умови встановлення єдності після періоду інтенсивного й обтяженого розбратом соціального конфлікту — того, що Кант називав космополітичною конституцією? У цьому есеї я стверджую, що така єдність на широких засадах залежить від створення відносно незалежної цивільної сфери, ефективне функціювання інституцій якої, своєю чергою, залежить від спільного сакрального дискурсу взаємоприязні. Але щоб заговорити такою спільною мовою, потрібно значно більше, ніж залучення до спілкування. Усе залежить від глибоко емоційного та вкрай символічного процесу, в рамках якого публічні заходи примирення створюють нові структури почуттів та ідентифікації. Це теоретичне твердження емпірично досліджується на підставі прикладів постголокостної Німеччини, постфранкістської Іспанії та постапартеїдної ПАР.
